ABOUT THE MENU
This menu provides general information, as well as access to the features and functionality of the site. It will be visible at the top of most pages, but the menu options are customized depending on where you are on the site and whether or not you are logged in. Menu options are:
GP Home Page - Use this option to navigate back to the Gold Practice Home Page from wherever you may be on the site. The home page contains login and registration capability, as well as a table identifying practices for which substantial data and/or documentation exist. Use the hyperlinks in this table for direct access to the data and information of interest.
Overview - The symbol ">" indicates that this menu item has multiple options . Select the options to learn more about the DACS Gold Practice initiative. Learn why the site was launched, who is the intended audience, what the site offers, what are Gold Practices, where do they come from, and how are they organized. Review the definitions and terminology of the site, and learn about becoming a registered member of the DACS Gold Practice Community.
Practices - This option provides access to broader lists of practices separated into two tables according to the type of information that is available in the current release. Table 1 lists practices for which substantial documentation exists. Table 2 list practices targeted by the DACS for development in the near future. From Table 1 you may download the documentation for the listed practices, or click on the practice name to view the documentation online. From both tables, for a specific practice, you may download a survey, access the discussion forum, and review existing case studies. Additionally, registered members who are logged in may use the links to participate in the discussion forum, or submit case studies online.
Data - This menu item allows you to review quantitative and/or qualitative data where it exists. From the GP home page this data would be of a general nature, but when you have navigated to a page about a specific practice, then any existing data would also relate to that specific practice. If the menu options have a strikethrough ( like this ) it means that data is not currently available. Data presented is primarily data collected by the DACS through interaction with the software community.
Contact Us - This option allows you to submit an email to the DACS to ask questions, or share with us your thoughts about the site, regardless of whether or not you are a registered member. We encourage you to communicate with us often, especially to tell us about the value of the information provided on the site for you in your work, to tell us what you were looking for when you visited the site, and whether or not we are meeting your needs.
